With over 17 years of experience and 14 years at Mynt, Jay is a seasoned stylist who transforms hair into stunning works of art. Trained at the Aveda Institute in Toronto, Jay began his career not only mastering the craft but also educating future stylists. He later refined his skills with advanced training at Arrojo in New York City and with L’Oréal Professionnel.

Jay is known for his precision cuts, custom highlights, and personalized styling—all tailored to reflect each client’s unique personality. His creative flair, attention to detail, and easygoing nature make every visit to Mynt an enjoyable, confidence-boosting experience.

After graduating from McMaster with a degree in English, Jay took a bold turn into hairstyling, dedicating two years at the Aveda Institute to specializing in cut and colour. Early in his career, he honed his skills at the Queen Street Aveda salon, where clients sought cutting-edge, street-inspired styles and vibrant colour streaks.

In September 2014, Jay completed an Editorial Styling Course at the Arrojo Hair Expo in New York City with Nick Arrojo.
